How can we make the Bible relevant, both for those who have a close relationship with it and for those who just want to read a good story? We all have an idea of how the stories in the Bible unfold, but can that idea be challenged to encourage readers to rediscover the Bible? How can we spark renewed interest and joy in reading the Bible and dig deep in all that it has to offer?
Generally, humor is a very effective tool for generating interest and engagement. Can we use humor to support the truth present in the Bible, making it easier for readers to identify with the characters in the book? Perhaps it can make the seriousness more vivid for the reader, without the humor becoming blasphemous or too frivolous, so that it enhances the narratives without detracting from them.
